Ballina Aerodrome (YBNA) is a Certified Aerodrome under the Civil Aviation Act 1988. The fully sealed runway (06/24) being 1900m long and 30m wide was designed to suit small to mid-sized jet aircraft operation.
Ballina Airport is currently serviced by Virgin Australia (B737), Jetstar (A320) and Regional Express (SAAB340); Air Courier Operations and itinerant aircraft. The airport also provides for small but active GA fraternity of both fixed and rotary wing aircraft, pilot training, scenic and charter flights and an Aero Club. Private hangarage is available at the western end of the airport.

The closest drop location is situated approx 1.8NM south of the aerodrome.

Parking on the Main Apron is reserved for RPT aircraft.
Parking for General Aviation Aircraft is subject to availability and there is no reserved parking for itinerant aircraft at Ballina Airport. An asphalt parking apron is provided for light aircraft which is located immediately on the western side of the Main Taxiway (access via the GA taxiway). Parking for aircraft larger than 5700kg will require prior arrangement with Airport Management, however availability cannot be guaranteed. Parking Fees apply to all non-RPT aircraft.
Ballina is a Security Controlled Airport and ASICs are to be displayed at all times.
The Main RPT Apron is a designated Security Restricted Area. Security Screening arrangements apply to all passengers of RPT and Charter aircraft departing from the main apron during jet operational periods.
Airside access for General Aviation operators is via the personnel gates adjacent to the GA Area. Passengers are to be escorted/supervised to and from the gate by the GA pilot/ASIC holder. GA access to the RPT apron and/or to the terminal from airside is strictly prohibited.
